Thank you so much for visiting our Website! I cant wait to meet you and get started on your session, here are some things you need to know before booking!

Payments can be made via cash, check, or paypal.

No refunds.

A Retainer fee is required to book your session, with Final payment due at the session time. If retainer/payment is not in on time, your appointment/date may be given to another client.

All sessions begin at the scheduled time, please arrive ready to begin. Arriving late, will result in loss of session time, I will not wait longer than 10 minutes for you to arrive to your session. No refunds are issued for late/missed sessions. In the event that I am late you will still receive your entire session time.

Mid day sessions are discouraged, mainly due to bright, bold sunlight that causes squinting.

In the event of an approved missed session (at least 24 hrs notice) a refund will not be issued, however you will be able to reschedule your session. If you “no-show” you will not be rescheduled and your deposit/payment will not be refunded.

Travel Fees may apply for sessions outside of the Livingston County, MI area. 

If your session comes with multiple locations, travel and outfit changes will count towards your total session time.

Danna Castillo Photography is not responsible for uncooperative clients, (human, or animal), or weather. A refund will not be issued due to uncooperative clients, if weather conditions are poor session will be rescheduled.

Bringing “spectators” is not recommended. Please bring only the subject being photographed.

Please be prepared for your session-physically & mentally. Dress appropriately for the session & weather.

Wearing clothing with words, logos, and busy patterns is not recommended.

Please know that each photo or pose taken will NOT be edited or made available to you. While suggestions are taken into consideration, it is ultimately the artistic choice of Danna Castillo as to which poses, locations, & edits will be carried out.

Sneak peeks are a bonus, I try to get them up immediately but am very busy, and cannot promise sneak peeks on a specific time line or at all.

Please allow 4-6 weeks editing time for mini sessions, 8-10 weeks for full sessions, and 3-5 months for weddings. These time lines are estimations and are not promised- I am a perfectionist, editing is an art, and is representative of my work & brand, I will not release images until they are ready, please do not send multiple messages-I have not forgotten about you. Editing time for sessions taking place July 1st -December 1st may take longer, due to high volume.

Mini sessions do not include artistic edits, black & whites, or matte filters. They are slightly retouched. If you’d like skin correction, artistic/dramatic edits etc please book a full session.

Mini sessions take place at my location, if youd like a mini session somewhere else a travel fee will be added.

Every Session is unique per family, therefor it is impossible to predict how many images will be produced per session.

When booking large groups (over 10) please send a list of names & poses prior to your session.

Client & spectator cameras are not to be brought or used during your session under any circumstances, use of camera phone is ok.

Galleries are great tools used for placing orders. You can view, share, and download your images from your gallery. Your gallery is not permanent, it will expire after some time, or after your order is placed. If you need your gallery re-activated it is a $10 fee. If you do not have access to a computer you will need to purchase a  USB for $10.

All images taken by myself-Sarah Papes, are copyright, and owned by myself under State of Michigan Law. Photos may be used publicly by myself. Clients do not legally have the rights to change photos in any way. A print release gives client permission to print images without changing. Do NOT crop, add filters/text, or change my images in any way. Please note that local print companies aside from Hokansons are NOT permitted, such as but not limited to- Meijer, Walmart, Walgreens, etc. Please use the print companies listed in your print release for great results.

 

Cancellation Policy:

Cancelling or rescheduling: Due to limited availability, please make sure you have no conflicts when scheduling your appointment. A non-refundable retainer fee of $100/$250 is required to secure an appointment with Danna Castillo for photography services. If you have to cancel or reschedule, this fee will be forfeited and an additional fee will be required. Of course, we completely understand that last minute emergencies arise. We request that you respect our time as much as your own. Emergencies and rescheduling fees will be reviewed on an individual level.

In the event of bad weather: Since our sessions are outside, weather is always a factor. Danna Castillo will contact you 30 minutes-1 hour prior to the session with the threat of rain/if it’s raining to determine a course of action. Working to reschedule if needed, will be done as soon as possible to fit in to both parties schedule. Availability for Danna Castillo is limited during some months due to heavy client volume.

Photographer Cancellation or rescheduling: In the event of equipment failure or an act of God, if Danna Castillo must cancel your appointment, a full refund of any retainer fee or any monies paid will be issued in full as long as no services are rendered. If a Photographer emergency arises and Danna Castillo must reschedule your appointment, every effort to reschedule at your convenience will be made.

 

1. It is understood this Photographer is the exclusive official photographer retained to perform the photographic services requested.
2. No part of any order, including previews, will be delivered until the balance is paid in full. Once the items ordered have been delivered to the client, the sale is final and refunds will not be given.

3. The Photographer reserves the right to use images created for advertising, display, publication or other purposes. 

4. Upon signature & the payment of the retainer, the Photographer shall reserve the time and date agreed upon. If the Photographer is able to fully replace a cancelled reservation, all sitting fees and retainers are non-refundable, even if the portrait is rescheduled or canceled for any reason other than inclement weather.

5. The Client takes the responsibility of their own safety and their children’s safety before, during and after the portrait session, regardless of location. The Client agrees to hold harmless Danna Castillo in the case of an accident, injury, and other unforeseen circumstances.

6. If, in the opinion of the Photographer, inclement weather or other adverse conditions prevent the creation of a portrait meeting the artistic standards of the studio/photographer, photographer may elect to use an alternate location or to reschedule the portrait. The Photographer also holds the right to reschedule or cancel a portrait session due to the behavior of the Client and/or Client’s children. 7. If the Photographer cannot perform this Contract due to fire or other casualty, strike, act of God, or other cause beyond the control of the parties, or due to Photographer’s illness or emergency, then the Photographer shall return the retainer fee to the Client but shall have no further liability with respect to the Contract. This limitation on liability shall also apply in the event that photographic materials are damaged in processing, lost through camera or media malfunction, lost in the mail, or otherwise lost or damaged without fault on the part of the Photographer. In the event the Photographer fails to perform for any other reason, the Photographer shall not be liable for any amount in excess of the retail value of the Client’s order.

8. For any session location outside of a 15 mile radius of Danna Castillo Photography, there is a travel fee that will be discussed prior to the booking of the session.
9. Client is aware that color dyes in photography may fade or discolor over time due to the inherent qualities of dyes, and Client releases Photographer from any liability

for any claims whatsoever based upon fading or discoloration due to such inherent qualities.
10. CREATIVE LICENSE: Images are edited at the photographer’s discretion, and delivered prints will not include all images shot. The photographer reserves the creative right to edit and release only those deemed creditable as professional in quality and within the photographer’s artistic standards.

11. NOTICE OF COPYRIGHT: It is ILLEGAL to copy or reproduce these photographs or videos elsewhere without Photographer’s permission, and violators of this Federal Law will be subject to its civil and criminal penalties.
12. Clients understand that editing or using app filters to change images taken by Danna Castillo to post on social media outlets is not allowed. You can share your images via social media, but do not alter them with image filters.

13. Returned checks are subject to a $50.00 returned check fee. Client assumes responsibility for any and all collection costs and legal fees incurred by Danna Castillo Photography in the event of enforcement of this contract becomes necessary.

14. The client understands that each fulfilled gallery will be archived for 6 months from date of the session. All primary and future orders must be placed within the 6- month time frame to ensure availability of images. If an order has not been fulfilled and client has otherwise failed to contact the photographer, the gallery will be purged six months from the date of the session.

15. This Contract incorporates the entire understanding of the parties. Any modifications of this Contract must be in writing and signed
by both parties.
